More Schemes and Incentives

The main source of support for wood pellet (biomass) and solar heating /hot water systems is the UK government’s Renewable Heat Incentive scheme. There is information on the support available below. There are also grants available, but please note that acceptance of some of these other sources of funding would mean you become ineligible for the Renewable Heat Incentive payments. We recommend that you get in touch with Organic Energy before accepting any funding, so we can advise you on the best course of action.

The number and size of grants available for wood pellet (biomass) and solar heating /hot water systems are subject to national and local availability. So this guide cannot be too specific as grants are withdrawn or introduced on a regular basis. The main payment for domestic customers is currently the Renewable Heat Premium Payment, and more information can be found in the links below.

Currently grants are available for almost all types of wood pellet heating, solar thermal heating or hot water systems; domestic or commercial. A number of national grant providers are listed below, but for regional or local grants please Contact Us so that we can put you in touch with one of our regional Partners, who will have more information on the financial assistance available in your area.
