Horizontal solar collector
New horizontally-aligned solar collector
14 December 2007
A new horizontally-aligned roof-integrated solar collector is now available. The new collector is unique in giving the appearance of being a series of 1m2 glazed sections, in effect looking very similar to a conventional rooflight: an attractive option for applications where concerns over planning consent or aesthetics are important.
The collector is quick and easy to install compared to many other roof-integrated systems, and is suitable for slate or tile roofs. Built using a timber subframe, the unit makes very little use of aluminium and thus its embodied energy is far lower than many of its competitors.
