OSO Stainless Steel hot water cylinders are possibly the highest quality unvented cylinders available in the UK, made by one of Scandinavia's largest and most successful water heater manufacturers. When designing a specifying a renewable energy installation at Organic Energy, it is important for us to ensure that every component is of comparable high quality. OSO hot water cylinders meet the same high standards that our Okofen boilers and Gasokol solar water heating systems set, in terms of design, construction and finish.

Stainless steel is the material of choice for hot water plumbing. The combination of heat and water corrodes lesser materials such as mild steel and copper, and - particularly in areas with acidic water - copper cylinders will fail in 10 years or less. OSO use only Super Molybdenum Stainless Steel, ensuring faultless corrosion-resistant performance and allowing us to offer a 25-year guarantee on every cylinder we supply.

The second major OSO advantage is the ability to offer hot water at mains pressure. This type of unvented hot water system allows taps and showers to provide full mains-pressure water flow rates without the need for a secondary pump, thus reducing the system's electrical demand and avoiding future maintenance problems.

An OSO water cylinder is a truly high quality stainless steel hot water cylinder, certified in the UK for solar hot water applications. Some other cylinders have smaller solar heat exchanger coils or inferior capacities, meaning that no matter how efficient your solar collector is, the system as a whole will never realise the full heating potential of the sun's energy. A properly sized and installed OSO Solarcyl cylinder is recognised by the BBA, IPHE and WRAS as being ideally suited for solar water heating installations, and of course also has full CE certification.
