Tank allgemein

FlexiTank:

Special antistatic textile material, very
strong, wire-reinforced
Simple and quick installation
Economical
Flexible

Dustproof
No damage of the tank room
in case of flood.
Can be installed outdoors if
protected from rain and UV.

FlexiTank storage
The pellets are delivered by pellet tanker and blown
into the textile FlexiTank. The pellet tanker has up to
30metres of delivery hoses. Therefore the FlexiTank
must be within 30m of the tanker access. Where possible, the tank room should have an outside wall, so that the fillers are accessible from outdoors. The pellet storage room must have an opening for ventilation. In the case of an internal storage room, you must install delivery and aspiration ducts to an outside wall (respect fire regulations).

The boiler room should also have an outside wall as
this enables direct aeration and air aspiration. If this is
not possible, you must install an aeration duct of section
at least 200cm² to an outside wall.

Dimension of the Room

Layout:
The tank installation room must be at least 7-10 cm
wider than the tank itself.
For example, S190 – tank width 197 cm – minimum room width 205 cm.
For installation reasons, on the side of the tank where
the loading unit is fitted, the room must be 30 cm longer
than the minimum stated.
For example, S190 – minimum room length = 205 + 30 = 235 cm.

High of the room:
The minimum required high of the room is 220 cm.

See following examples of installation.

FlexiTank sizing
Flexi Tanks are available in six different sizes, with capacities from 3.2 to 5.4 t!

The tank size depends on the building heat load, and
should in any case hold a pellet supply for one year.

Considering average heating conditions, following will help to estimate the size of the FlexiTank required:
For 1 kW of heating capacity, consider an annual
consumption of 400 kg of pellets.

Examples:
Heating capacity 12 kW x 400 kg = 4800 kg FlexiTank S2822 or S280
Heating capacity 10 kW x 400 kg = 4000 kg FlexiTank S2819
Heating capacity 7 kW x 400 kg = 2800 kg FlexiTank S190

The equipment of tank room and boiler room

Walls:
The wall and ceiling fire resistance for the tank room
and the boiler room must be Class F 90.

Doors:
As for all heating systems, the pellet storage room and
the boiler room doors must be fire resistant (minimum
30T), must open outwards and must have seals.

Filling system:

In general if a FlexiTank is used, there is no need to
remove the air blown in. However the room where the
FlexiTank is installed must have an adequate breather
opening (window or similar) of section at least 170cm_.
According to the size of the tank or the position of the
supply unit you will need up to two fillers to fill the
FlexiTank evenly.

If theFlexiTank– type S2819 or S2822 – is filled at the longer side, two fillers are needed – as for the FlexiTank type S280.

Fire protection:

Austria
In Austria the TRVB standards apply (technical directives
for fire prevention). For detailed information, call your local authorised sales representative.
Germany
Systems rated lower than 50 kW are not subject to heating plant rules = no need to conform to fire regulations such as F 90 etc. You can install the tank and the boiler in the same room but you must leave a distance of at least one metre between the tank and the boiler.
All Europe
All european countries have their rules. For detailed
information we suggest you call your local authorised
sales representative.

Humidity:
The normal humidity of cellar walls is not a problem.
However theFlexiTank must not touch wet walls. In
the case of outdoor installation, the FlexiTank must be
protected against rain and UV radiation. To avoid the
pellets swelling, water must not penetrate the tank.

Electrical system:

All electrical fittings in the pellet storage room must
comply with IEE regulations.

Connection to the heating system:
The system is supplied complete with wiring. You need
only provide a socket at 230V in the boiler room.

External emergency stop switch:
Outside the boiler room, and near the boiler room door,
we recommend “emergency stop switch”.
