How much space do I need for a boiler and fuel store?

All wood pellet boilers are designed to be housed in boiler rooms: an Ökofen automatic wood pellet boiler is not a kitchen appliance in the same way that a gas combi boiler is. However, Ökofen systems are considerably smaller than many other biomass boilers, and are similar in size to the oil boilers typically installed in a shed or outhouse.

An Ökofen wood pellet boiler is normally 113cm (approx 3'6") wide and 109cm (approx 3') tall. The size of the boiler room will ideally be 2m x 2m (approx 6'6" x 6'6"), although we have installed systems in smaller areas. For exact dimensions please refer to the Ökofen PELLEMATIC boilers technical specifications page.

A typical pellet store also requires a minimum space of 2m x 2m (approx 6'6" x 6'6"), and can be installed in a dedicated room, a converted garage or shed, or in a purpose-built weather-proof outdoor enclosure. For further details please refer to the FlexiTank pellet storage page.
